약 170년간 학술 출판에 관심을 갖고, 그 일만을 전세계에서 5,000여 직원이 전문적으로 수행하고 있습니다.
화학, 물리, 의학 노벨상 수상자중 22%에 해당하는 170여분께서 저희 Springer를 통해서 그 분들의 연구를 알리셨고, 한국인 노벨상 수상자가 나온다면 그 분은 현재의 Springer 저자일 확률이 매우 높습니다.
왜냐하면 유수의 한국 과학기술의학관련 40여 학회가 저희와 공동으로 학술지를 출판하고 그 학술지는 Springer를 통해 전세계로 소개되고 있기 때문이죠.

이번에 저희가 찾는 사람은 위에 소개한 대로 한국인 교수/연구자/학회에서 나온 연구 저작물을 해외연구자들이 볼 수 있도록 단행본 또는 저널의 형태로 출판하는 것을 담당할 분입니다(Editor / Associated Editor).

구체적으로 말하자면 저자를 만나서 출판에 대하여 안내와 상의를 하고, 그 절차 및 진행을 관리하며, 새로운 또 저자를 발굴하는 등의 업무입니다.
(영문직함이 Editor라고 해서 문서를 편집/교정하는 업무가 아닙니다.)

현재까지는 저명한 한국인 교수여도 해외 출판사를 통해 단행본 출판하기에 여러 어려운 점이 많았으나 이제 이번에 채용될 직원을 통해 보다 많은 한국인 Springer 저자가 나오게 될 것 입니다.

참고로 아래 뉴스기사에서 ‘1년전 Springer사의 제안으로’라는 기사가 있는데 이 부분이 Springer Editor가 담당해야 할 업무중의 하나 입니다.

교수와 같이 전문지식을 가진 저자와 관련 주제에 대하여 출판에 대한 논의를 하여야 하기 때문에 해당 전공분야에 전문적인 지식이 있어야 합니다.

따라서 해외저널에 논문을 게재한 실적과 함께 석/박사 이상의 학위가 필요합니다.

Editor / Associate Editor, Biology, Bio Medicine, Life Science, Materials Science and Chemistry

Responsibilities:
-To build up and maintain an author/editor/reviewer network in Korean
scientific community by attending conferences and visiting universities.
-To keep abreast of the latest development of responsible subject areas, focus
on emerging or hot topics, as well as on interdisciplinary research.
-To plan, acquire and manage publishing projects. These include journals,
books, proceedings and electronic products in Biology, Bio Medicine, Life
Science and related areas.
-To work effectively within the global Springer organization.


Requirements:
-Master or PhD in relevant discipline
-Previous working experience in international STM publishing is an advantage.
-Experience of living / working outside of Korea is desirable.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
-First class presentation skills, fluent written and spoken English.
-Ability and willingness to travel regularly within Korea, and occasionally
internationally when required.
-Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and capable to handle multiple
priorities.
-Highly motivated with a sense of self-discipline and of entrepreneurial
interests.
-Proficiency in Office applications, in particular Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Compensation and benefits for successful candidates:
We offer 4 national insurances, 15-day annual leave and a 5-day week in
addition to a salary that commensurate with their experience and qualification, for successful candidates.
